Le Portrait Sculpté
November 5 - December 17, 2004
Capturing the human expression and its ephemeral nature while simultaneously affirming its robust and concise form—such is the power of sculpture. The exhibition The Sculpted Portrait offers an opportunity to focus on the curves and lines of the face. These faces, some the portraits of friends, others commissions or homages, though fixed in bronze or terra cotta, nonetheless pulsate with life. They are astonishing in their eternal presence, a reality perceived by the senses.
