Georges Dorignac - Red and Black Drawings

March 31 - May 21, 2016

With 43 drawings and four paintings, the Galerie Malaquais shows an important collection by this artist for the first time, before other museums, including La Piscine in Roubaix and the Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, will hold shows of his work, beginning in November 2016.

Georges Dorignac (Bordeaux, 1879-Paris, 1925) modeled on the flat surface of thick or textured paper, creating powerful and dense relief forms. These expressive works, usually monochrome, fill the limited space of the sheet, creating striking contrasts.
