This exhibition is the result of a partnership between Galerie Messine and Galerie Malaquais, two galleries linked by a long-standing friendship and a shared love of sculpture.
It brings together five major 20th-century artists who embody the ‘Catalan spirit’. United by their shared Mediterranean origins, their exile in Paris and their friendship, Aristide Maillol, Manolo Hugué, Pablo Gargallo, Pablo Picasso and Apel.les Fenosa profoundly revitalised the language of modern European sculpture.
With more than forty sculptures on display, the exhibition highlights both the diversity of their artistic languages and their shared affinities.
